Children impress In Bloom judges

A GROUP of Nailsea school children were presented with a special award when judges visited the town for the South West in Bloom contest.

Youngsters at Golden Valley Primary School received a cup from judge, Anita Barrett, on July 21 after the children's efforts resulted in them being rewarded first prize for the best school garden.[More... Source: The Weston & Somerset Mercury]

City looks forward to flower show

The annual Worcester City Flower Show starts in Cripplegate Park on Saturday, August 15, but needs more entries to make it an even bigger success than last year, say organisers.

OAP demolishes flower shop after hitting accelerator instead of brake

A wrecked car lies embedded in the remains of a flower shop - after the 83-year-old driver pressed the accelerator instead of the brake.

RHS Flower Show in Tatton Park, Knutsford, draws to a close with Sunday sell-off

Earlier this week the award winners at this year's RHS Flower Show in Tatton Park, Knutsford, were announced.

  • Best Show Garden: Visit Chester and Cheshire in association with The Northwest Development Agency
  • Tatton Park Young Designer of the Year: Lee Belgrau
  • Best Exhibit in the Floral Marquee: Southfield Nurseries
  • Most Creative Exhibit in the Floral Marquee: Harts Nursery
  • Best Back to Back Garden: Tim Fowler Garden Design & TJS Landscapes
  • Best Visionary Garden: Alan Burns and Philip Dugdale
  • Best Exhibit RHS/Ball Colegrave National Flower Bed Competition: Stoke-on-Trent City Council
  • Best Exhibit in the National Plant Societies Marquee: North of England Orchid Society
  • Best Exhibit in the Floral Design Studio: St Helens College
  • Most Creative Exhibit in the Floral Design Studio: Welsh College of Horticulture
